The
scooner can be built from the small-size plans in Harold Payson's
book "Build the New Instant Boats"--we
did it, but don't you. Fiddling around with a scale of 1:39.4568
or something is absolutely guaranteed to result in at least one
major mistake. Rectifying that one mistake is going to cost you
more than the full-size plans would have. (We're too embarrassed
to say what our mistake was...)
Definitely use "Build the
New Instant Boats" for study plans, general building advice
and model-building, but for the real thing, on which your life
and your family's and friends' may depend, there's no substitute
for the full-size plans.
